I am in the process of installing wordpress blog for my site. I really like your template. How did you add menu tab to your header?

Nicole

10. Mario Sundar - October 27, 2006

Hi,
Thanks for dropping by. You can do that by installing my blog theme Regulus 2.1 (courtesy: Ben Gillbanks at Binary Moon.)

Once you install that theme, you can then tweak the options.

Hope this helps.

A few questions from a blog idiot

How do you keep the spammers from eating you alive? i\’ve seen blogs with nothing but spam postings.

How do you keep some left wing extremist from posting racist or defamatory rhetoric? and if you cant stop them, what are you legally liabel when they do?

can viruses be posted to blogs?

12. Mario Sundar - March 28, 2007

Well, I’m a little confused as to whether this is a spam post Fundraiser. Anyways, to answer your question. Most spam (in the thousands) is caught by wordpress.

However, in recent times, there has been a ton of spam trackbacks I’ve received that I’m dealing with that’s increasingly annoying.

Hi Mario,
Currently, I’m a bit more of a web developer at my organization, but will be transitioning into more solid community management duties after our new site launches.

I’m interested in social marketing and community media too and the content on your blog is really, really great and useful.

Cheers!

22. Michael Lee Stallard - May 24, 2008

Mario,

Gradually Im building my LinkedIn Network and would love to know of any resources that would help me learn how to use LinkedIn to identify individuals who share my interest in the importance of social capital, community, connection and relationships in the workplace and in life generally. I wrote the “Connection Culture” manifesto that changthis.com published recently and would love to know how I might identify LinkedIn or other members of social networks who would be interested in collaborating on these ideas. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated. All the best…MLS

23. Mario Sundar - July 22, 2008

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the comment. The two best resources you’re going to find on LinkedIn are:

1. The LinkedIn Blog (that I edit) – http://blog.linkedin.com/

2. The LinkedIn Learning Center – http://learn.linkedin.com/

Hope these help.

Hey Mario,

My name is Nikhil Prakash and I am a creative marketing manager for http://www.retrevo.com. I just wanted to say that I’ve enjoyed browsing through your site, and I am going to be attending your session at Blogworld in Vegas. I was wondering if it is possible for us to hook up for coffee sometime during those few days, as I’d love to pick your brain a bit about social media and blogging strategies…

Keep up the good work!

Thank you sir,
Nikhil

27. Ryan Graves - October 13, 2008

Mario- Great blog. I’ve learned a bunch. I’m currently thinking about taking a position as a community manager and I’m trying to figure out if it would be a good fit for me. I think I would really enjoy it but I’ve never held the role before and wanted to learn more.

Any chance we can chat sometime about your role at LinkedIn and your experience prior? Let me know what works. I blog at http://ryanagraves.com if you’re interested.

Thanks in advance, hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers.

28. Mario Sundar - October 14, 2008

@Ryan,

LinkedIn and you are taking hits on Twitter and you’re not even responding to them. Since you limit your followers on Twitter, no one can DM you. You might want to take a look at them, especially those from @tojulius.

Mario Sundar - April 23, 2009

@Jeff,

We’re closely monitoring the Twitter feed and I’m personally responding to the relevant tweets, comments, etc.

Thanks!
